We\u2019ve discussed how to setup a promo code<\/a> in our previous blogs, but did you know that you can also set up promotional rates in your system\u2019s Rate Management?<\/p>\n

Promo Rates vs. Promo Discounts<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

While the setup process for promotional rates and promotional discounts is similar, there may be a few use cases in which you would prefer to use one over the other.<\/p>\n

Promotional Discounts<\/u><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re running a marketing campaign that offers a one-time 5% discount to new bookers, then you would be better off creating a discount that can be applied at the time of booking.<\/p>\n

Promotional Rates<\/u><\/p>\n

As the name suggests, this option allows you to create a special rate as opposed to providing a discount on a reservation. For example, maybe you\u2019d like to run a special promotion during school vacation week where you\u2019re offering airport transfers at a reduced rate; you can set up a promotional rate that applies to a specific date range.<\/p>\n

Setting Up a Promotional Rate<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Click My Office and navigate to Rate Management, then select Special Promotion Setup.<\/li>\n
  2. Whether you\u2019re setting up a Promo Discount or Promo Rate, you need to first setup a Promo Code.\n
      \n
    1. Choose a name for your promo code (ex. PROM, New Booker Discount, SPRING 2023)<\/li>\n
    2. If setting up a discount, check the \u201cIs Discount\u201d box, otherwise leave unchecked to setup a rate.<\/li>\n
    3. Select the applicable Service Types and Vehicle Types for the rate to apply to.<\/li>\n
    4. (Optional) specify which Zip Code and\/or Airport this rate applies to<\/li>\n
    5. Select either a Single Date or Date Range then click \u201cAdd\u201d, or select Always Active<\/li>\n
    6. (Optional) Provide a description.<\/li>\n
    7. Click Update Promo Code when finished.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. Once your Promo Code has been saved, navigate to the Promo Rates tab.<\/li>\n
      2. Select the promo code from the Stored Promo Rates list, then click \u201cEDIT.\u201d<\/li>\n
      3. Enter the appropriate rate information, then click \u201cUPDATE.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Applying the Promotional Rate<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. To see whether a promotional rate is available for a specific reservation, click \u201cApply Rate Table\u201d and click the PROMO tab.<\/li>\n
        2. Select the appropriate promotional rate (will show the dollar amount) or discount from the list that populated dropdown list.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          1. Once the rate has been applied, continue with reservation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
