{"id":5639,"date":"2022-04-14T22:53:30","date_gmt":"2022-04-15T03:53:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.limoanywhere.com\/2022\/04\/14\/linking-rate-matrices-to-service-types-in-ores\/"},"modified":"2022-04-14T22:53:30","modified_gmt":"2022-04-15T03:53:30","slug":"linking-rate-matrices-to-service-types-in-ores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.limoanywhere.com\/2022\/04\/14\/linking-rate-matrices-to-service-types-in-ores\/","title":{"rendered":"Linking Rate Matrices to Service Types in ORES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While default pricing may work for the majority of your daily operations, there may also be times of year where you want to plan for different pricing models without making it difficult for your clients to book their service online.<\/p>\n<p>Some examples where you might want to employ different rates include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pricing for a unique event like the Super Bowl or other high-profile events.<\/li>\n<li>Pricing for specific destination\/events like major arenas or concert venues.<\/li>\n<li>Certain Service types that require different pricing like Proms<\/li>\n<li>Apply higher or lower rates to account for seasonality. A summer vacation market could easily change rates to account for decreased demand in off peak months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One of the ways that you can differentiate your pricing in ORES is by associating a rate matrix with a particular service type. This will enable you to scale pricing up and down as the time of year or demand change.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>**If your zones are already configured, you can skip to \u2018Setting Up a Fixed Rate Matrix\u2019 or \u2018Setting Up an Hourly Rate Matrix\\&#8217;\u201d <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Setting Up Zones<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click on \u2018My Office\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Under the \u2018Rate Management tab select \u2018Fixed Rates &amp; Zone Setup\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Click the \u2018\u2026\u2019 button to the right of the From and To fields in the Add New Rate box.\n<ol>\n<li>The \u2018Manage Zones\u2019 pop-up window will open.<\/li>\n<li>The first zones that need to be added are for all commercial airports that will be in the company\u2019s Fixed Rate &amp; Zones structure to establish those airports as zones.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the \u2018Add New Zone\u2019 section enter the FAA Airport Code as the Zone Code.\n<ol>\n<li>It is important that the FAA Airport Code be used because those are built into Limo Anywhere. <u>Do not enter a Zone City or Zip Code for an airport.<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Enter the name of the airport in the field Zone Description.<\/li>\n<li>Click \u2018Add Zone\u2018 to save changes.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the blue arrow icon to create additional zones.<\/li>\n<li>The next step is to establish the geographic areas that will define the Zones. Each zone must have a unique Zone Code.\n<ol>\n<li>Adding the Cities and Zip Codes to the Zone is optional the Fixed Rates will function much better if that information is included.<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Helpful Hint<\/u><\/strong>: a zone can be as small as a single zip code or as large as an entire metropolitan area. The smaller the geographic size of the zone the more zones there will be. A good place to start is to obtain a zip code map of your service area so that the zones can be visualized. There are many free sources for these available online.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><u>Setting Up a Fixed Rate Matrix<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\\\"9\\\">\n<li>Click on \u2018My Office\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Under the \u2018Rate Management tab select \u2018Fixed Rates &amp; Zone Setup\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Click \u2018Create New Rate Matrix\u2019<\/li>\n<li>In the pop-up, enter a unique name for your rate matrix and click the \u2018Create Matrix\u2019 button.<\/li>\n<li>Select the \u2018From Zone\u2018 from the drop-down list.<\/li>\n<li>Select the \u2018To Zone\u2018 from the drop-down list.<\/li>\n<li>Select the \u2018Vehicle Type\u2018 from the drop-down list.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the amount of the rate in Rate($).<\/li>\n<li>Enter amounts for Tolls and Parking if appropriate for this rate.<\/li>\n<li>Enter percentage values for the Tax 1 and Tax 2 fields if appropriate to this rate.<\/li>\n<li>Click the check box for \u2018Create a Reversed Rate\u2018 if it is desired to create a rate reversing the From\/To Zone automatically.<\/li>\n<li>Click \u2018Add Rate\u2018 to save changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img class=\\\"alignnone  wp-image-5642\\\" src=\\\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/4.22-1-300x86.png\\\" alt=\\\"\\\" width=\\\"893\\\" height=\\\"256\\\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Mapping Fixed Rate Fields<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Under the \u2018Rate Management tab select \u2018Fixed Rates &amp; Zone Setup\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Select the Rate Matrix you would like to map fields for.<\/li>\n<li>Click the \u2018Map Fixed Rate Fields\u2019 button.<\/li>\n<li>Select the appropriate item from the drop-down to associate with your fields.<\/li>\n<li>Click \u2018Update\u2019 when you are finished to save changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img class=\\\"alignnone  wp-image-5641\\\" src=\\\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/4.22-2-300x200.png\\\" alt=\\\"\\\" width=\\\"935\\\" height=\\\"623\\\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Setting Up an Hourly Rate Matrix<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\\\"21\\\">\n<li>Click on \u2018My Office\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Under the \u2018Company Resources\u2019 tab select \u2018Vehicles\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>In the Vehicle Type Listing click \u2018Edit Vehicle Type\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the \u2018Rates\u2019 tab<\/li>\n<li>Under the \u2018Per Hour Rates\u2019 tab click \u2018Add New Rate Matrix\u2019\n<ol>\n<li>The \u2018Create New Rate Matrix\u2019 pop-up will open<\/li>\n<li>Enter a unique name for your new Rate Matrix and click the \u2018Create Matrix\u2019 button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Enter the rate per hour for your Standard Rate.<\/li>\n<li>Select the Minimum Hours for the Standard rate from the drop-down list.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the rate per hour for Peak Rate.<\/li>\n<li>Select the Minimum Hours for the Peak rate from the drop-down list.<\/li>\n<li>For the Standard and Peak Rates, select from the drop down list the rate it will be associated with.\n<ol>\n<li>This will determine where the rate will appear in a the rate breakdown area of a reservation.
