We\u2019ve introduced a powerful new enhancement in Driver Anywhere<\/a><\/strong> that gives operators greater control over when drivers can update trip statuses \u2014 helping prevent premature trip starts and keeping passenger notifications perfectly timed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why This Matters<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Operators told us that sometimes, drivers would start trips too early \u2014 even days before the scheduled pickup time.
When that happened, it could trigger a chain of automated emails and SMS notifications that confused passengers, disrupted dispatch flow, and created unnecessary follow-up work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To address this, we previously introduced a warning message when a driver tried to update a trip\u2019s status more than 24 hours before pickup<\/strong>. Drivers could override the message and continue, but many operators wanted more flexibility \u2014 to define their own time limit<\/em> and decide whether or not drivers could bypass it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s New<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You now have full control over when and how the status change limitation<\/strong> applies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under My Office \u2192 Company Preferences \u2192 Driver Anywhere<\/strong>, you\u2019ll find three new settings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Turn Status Change Limitation ON<\/strong>
    Enable or disable the limitation feature entirely.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • \u201cDo not allow status change X hours before Pickup Time\u201d<\/strong>
    Define how many hours before pickup the system should display a warning if a driver tries to change the trip status (e.g., to On The Way<\/em>, Arrived<\/em>, etc.).
    The default remains 24 hours<\/strong>, but now you can adjust it to fit your operation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Allow drivers to override status change limitation<\/strong>
    Choose whether drivers can continue after seeing the warning:\n
      \n
    • YES:<\/strong> Drivers can acknowledge and proceed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • NO:<\/strong> Drivers will see the warning but won\u2019t be able to continue until the set time window.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      To use this feature, drivers must be on the latest versions of the Driver Anywhere app:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
