Athena Grimm, Owner & COO of BAC Transportation

Athena Grimm, Owner & COO of BAC Transportation, is a woman that has always hustled by nature and has never let stereotypes define her or create obstacles for her. With pure ambition and determination, Athena has done it all, from being the only female building maintenance technician, a small business owner, to the Owner & COO of BAC Transportation.

In the year 1999, at the age of 23 years old, Athena got her first exposure to passenger transportation as she found herself driving a six-passenger limousine to Alaska. Fast forward to 2005, Athena had married her husband Charlie and decided to join him in his business venture at BAC Limousine and Bus Services. Athena had to adapt quickly and take charge as she had to step into full-time leadership as the new Operations Manager.

One of Athena\’s lessons in business is \”Always be learning with an open mind.\” When Athena was looking to grow her business and search for a cloud-based system, she tried to learn as much as possible.  As she had attended an NLA tradeshow, she got the chance to know more about Limo Anywhere, and she decided to take a chance with our solution. It has now been nine years later, and Athena mentions she has never questioned her decision!

Alina Wade, Managing Partner, B&W Limo

Alina Wade,  Managing Partner of B&W Limo, is one of Limo Anywhere\’s most notable operators. Her professional background in the hospitality industry has helped her excel in the Ground Transportation Industry. Her ability to adapt and grow is impressive, and it is the primary reason why her business continues to shine.

As Alina had noticed that her city of Los Angeles needed better transportation service, seeing the necessity and market opportunity, she took a risk that would change her life forever. The company was founded in 2007, and almost six years after she decided to fully join forces with her husband and brother to take the company to the next level. With her expertise and relationships that she has built over the years in the hospitality industry, Alina was able to morph her business into something new and successful.

Amy Yan, General Manager, Amy Express Shanghai, and Beijing Airport Chauffeured Service Ltd

Amy Yan, General Manager of Amy Express Shanghai and Beijing Airport Chauffeured Service Ltd, is another female operator that has been able to liberate herself from gender roles and stereotypes. Amy founded her own company in 2008 and has been thriving ever since.

To excel in this industry, you must be adaptable and not afraid of competition and challenges. In 2013, Amy Express had started using Limo Anywhere. Our solution has been able to enhance Amy Express\’ work efficiency with all its latest features and technology. Amy mentions that being exposed to new technology has helped her achieve the right work-life balance, as she can work from home effectively and efficiently.

As Amy mentions the importance of an excellent work-life balance, she says that all women should plan an \”After-kid\” career sooner rather than later.

This is a reminder that women should not feel tied down to gender roles; and that they can be both a mother and a business owner at the same time. Sean was able to discuss the ins and outs of how Academy came to be and why it is essential for Limo Anywhere Customers to attend the event.

Over the past few years, Limo Anywhere has been purely focused on revamping and producing a greater product velocity for its customers. With the right team and the right technology, the company\’s growth in the last 15 years has scaled immensely from 100 operators to over 5000 in 2019. One of Limo Anywhere\’s latest features includes their new Reporting and Analytics Tool, which you can learn more about in this article.

In early 2011, Shawn Dolani was a student at the University of North Texas who was determined to start a business without any loans or investors. He owned a classic black Lincoln Town Car limo and  spent his weekends driving the one stretch limo he had. Within a short amount of time, Prime Limo expanded into Prime Limo & Car Service with the addition of luxury sedans, SUVs, sprinters, transits, mini buses, and mini coaches.

Dolani has put all his efforts into growing the business with the assistance of a larger fleet, an array of chauffeurs, and a reservation/dispatch team. Dispatchers love that the dispatch screen tells them everything they need to know about the schedule all on one page- one glance, and it’s easily identifiable which chauffeur is driving which car, or which trip needs attention due to color-coordinated real time status updates. Dolani also appreciates the robust reporting capabilities LA offers.

Dolani mentions that Limo Anywhere makes working with affiliates simple and uncomplicated. Prime has developed five affiliate emails that are automated with a picture of the chauffeur, the chauffeur’s name, vehicle, license plate, and time stamps. 80% of Prime’s affiliates are on LA, so they can see each other’s check-ins. Automation helps with corporate clients as well-one of Prime’s corporate clients prefers to receive texts when clients get in the car, and LA automates this.

Donali says that his favorite part of Limo Anywhere is its affiliate network LANet. He explains that LA “makes it so easy and reduces or eliminates mistakes that can happen. When we’re sending info to a non-LA user, we have to send a trip sheet; they have to enter it in, then Prime Limo has to double check, and there are almost always errors.”

Dolani recommends that Limo Anywhere users go through the training segments online. “Once you learn it, you will love it. You can customize a lot of things.” He notes that many users don’t know the full range of LA’s capabilities—it has all the resources users need.

Crown Limousine L.A. has been providing ground transportation services to Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura Counties since 1994. They pride themselves on offering quality vehicles at an affordable price. Crown may not be the least expensive operator, but they provide an excellent experience to every customer.

David Navon opened Crown Limousine in 1994 after some time spent selling high-risk auto insurance. He had recently gotten engaged, and while his future wife was making most of the arrangements, she asked him to handle the limo. Instead of making a reservation, David purchased a limousine for his wedding. After the wedding, he started driving the limousine in his spare time as a second job, and when the insurance industry began to struggle, he decided to work his limo business full time. He started Crown with his wedding limo and one sedan. David experienced strong growth and developed a first-rate reputation, earning an A+ rating from the BBB and 5 stars with Yelp.

Crown prioritizes quality over quantity. The company has sedans to charters and everything in between. Their full fleet can be viewed HERE. Crown also has tight relations with local affiliates and has steady access to many vehicles not listed on their fleet page.

Los Angeles may be famous for its terrible traffic, but Crown is able to cover all of L.A. county and doesn’t mind going further. With two offices—one in L.A. and another in Camarillo—they are able service a wide range of locations.

Crown Limousine and Limo Anywhere

David says Crown has been a Limo Anywhere customer for about five years. Reservations and dispatch rely on it heavily. In fact, before LA, they were using paper trip slips on a cork board! The transition to an online system was smooth. With Crown’s CAO Khanittha leading the way, she was able to manually set up the entire Limo Anywhere system! The only “issue” was Crown’s COO, Marc, who was very resistant to this change and was still using their paper system. Recognizing this, David and the team waited until Marc was on vacation before going completely paperless. Upon Marc’s return, there was some push-back – but we’re happy to report that Marc has since fully mastered and embraced Limo Anywhere and wouldn’t want it any other way.

Limo Anywhere also allows Crown to remain in control. According to David, one of the best things about LA is its versatility. He has an office set up in his house, and with Limo Anywhere, he can fully work from home. He can access the software from a tablet, phone, or computer. David loves LA, especially its checks and balances.

As a word of advice, David suggests encouraging staff to embrace the change if your company is switching or considering a switch to Limo Anywhere. He says, “The change is so positive and saves so much time. Efficiency is the key to this industry.”

 Adam Shonting – Executive Transportation of Nashville

Adam started his company in 2016 and hasn’t looked back since! Before opening Executive Transportation, he was the General Manager of a Humane Society. He saw that the ground transportation industry in Tennessee was booming, and he dove in head first.

Though he is still a small operator, he has strategically developed a network of other single-driver operators that he trusts to provide the same level of care as he does, and they now operate as friends and local affiliates, which allows them to call on each other to share vehicles and work. Executive Transportation is based in Nashville and services all of Central Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, and Northern Alabama.

With Tennessee’s tourism booming, ET of Nashville caters to a lot of retail customers as well as some corporate. Looking to the future, Adam would love to expand the affiliate work they do. “Any clients that affiliates send my way will receive true Southern hospitality. All of our drivers are from the area and know it well, they know the history, they know all the best places to go and things to do, and they know the easiest and most efficient ways to get where they need to go. I personally ensure that our affiliates are represented well and that any client who comes into contact with our company feels like a true VIP,” says Adam.

What Adam loves most about Nashville is the music. Seven days a week, you can find concerts or live music pretty much anywhere you go. Officials shut down Broadway (the main street though downtown) several times a year to host events, concerts, and festivals. It’s a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
